Critically acclaimed heavy rock band Mastodon will continue to pound the touring pavement as they have announced another string of headlining dates. This time they will be hitting the road with Dinosaur Jr. shortly after their co-headlining run with prog rockers Primus which starts May 6.
The follow up tour is set for 13 dates and will head across the U.S. and Canada September 1 through September 19. The tour will visit cities such as Edmonton, Calgary, Milwaukee, Cleveland and Grand Rapids.
Mastodon recently released a new animated music video for their song “Clandestiny” off their current studio album Emperor of Sand, their seventh offering which was released in March of 2017. The band also won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the “Sultan’s Curse” at the 2018 Grammy’s.
Dinosaur Jr. was originally formed in 1984 and released their 11th and most recent album Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not in 2016. The band brings an undeniable cult following and years of influence to the tour with a heavier band and they will inevitably make an interesting pair.
