Foo Fighters fans will often be treated to frontman Dave Grohl pulling fans and other performers from the audience on stage at live shows. It was no different this weekend in Jacksonville, Florida although the participants on this night were of a higher profile than usual.
The band was headlining the Sunday night slot at this year’s Welcome to Rockville and after the band covered the Grease classic “You’re the One That I Want,” John Travolta who was watching from the side of the stage briefly stepped on stage to wave to the festival crowd and give Grohl a hug. The song of course was originally performed by Travolta and Olivia Newton John for the film which was released in 1978.
The Foo Fighters didn’t stop there as they brought out British punk rock legend Billy Idol to help cover the John Lennon protest song “Gimme Some Truth” from the legendary album Imagine.
The band is currently on tour through July in support of their latest album Concrete and Gold. The record is the follow up to 2014s Sonic Highways and is the band’s ninth studio album.
