River City Rockfest Announces 2018 Lineup Featuring Nine Inch Nails, Primus and The Sword

River City Rockfest will return with a high profile lineup on Saturday September 22 at the AT&T Center Grounds in San Antonio, Texas. The day will feature headlining performances by legendary industrial titans Nine Inch Nails and slap-happy progressive rock legends Primus.

The festival is returning for a sixth year and is bringing one of its most powerful lineups yet. Along with Nine Inch Nails and Primus, the day will also feature performances by the newly fronted Stone Temple Pilots, grunge heroes Bush, Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, popular festival destroyers Chevelle, along with metal bands The Sword, Clutch, Hellyeah, and legends Suicidal Tendencies.

The inaugural festival took place in 2013 and was headlined by Guns N’ Roses and Alice and Chains and featured bands such as Bullet for My Valentine, Skillet, Asking Alexandria and Halestorm. Over the years the festival has provided fans headlining bands such as Def Leppard, Godsmack, Disturbed, Scorpions, Linkin Park, Volbeat, Kid Rock, Five Finger Death Punch and Deftones.

Nine Inch Nails will be touring extensively in Europe and Asia before making their way to San Antonio for River City Rockfest while Primus announced co-headlining summer tour with acclaimed and award winning metal masters Mastodon.

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2015 and have not released a record since Unvarnished in 2013. They are heading out for a summer tour across the United States with Styx and Tesla.

Stone Temple Pilots added former Dry Cell vocalist Jeff Gutt in 2017 and the band released their second self-titled album on March 16, their first since 2010. Bush released Black and White Rainbows in 2017 which was their seventh studio album and they also announced a summer tri-headlining tour with Stone Temple Pilots and The Cult.

“Every year we strive to raise the bar with talent at River City Rockfest, and we’re truly honored to have the legendary Nine Inch Nails performing this year. This artist has been at the top of our loyal fans’ wish lists and it’s finally a reality,” said Joe Litvag, Executive Producer of the festival for AEG Presents.
