Groundbreaking indie rocker Jeremy Enigk has announced U.S. performances for the “Return of the Frog Queen Anniversary tour,” which begins in San Francisco at Rickshaw Stop, June 7, and ends appropriately in Seattle at Chop Suey, July 12th. Much to the delight of Frog Queen superfans, Enigk is slated to perform the Return of the Frog Queen Album in its entirety during the 23 stop anniversary tour.
The tour, follows the news that the Return of the Frog Queen: Expanded Edition will be reissued on LP through the iconic Seattle based label Sub Pop. It’s been 22 years since the albums original release, and, looking back it’s easy to see how Enigk’s unique sound helped spawn a whole movement of successful artists from Elliot Smith to Modest Mouse. Enigk, who was also the singer-songwriter for Sunny Day Real Estate, is known for harboring a punk aesthetic that dislikes blatant self-promotion, so the anniversary tour may be a unique opportunity for new fans to discover an integral work of indie gold that is filled with spare yet authentic acoustic guitars and soft melodies.
