Sepultura has announced the reissue of its classic album Arise, available June 15 from Rhino Records. The special expanded remastered edition features a rare look at the original with previously unreleased studio and live recordings. Arise: Expanded Edition offers unique content including 28 bonus tracks, many of which have not been previously released including “Dead Embryonic Cells” and “Beneath the Remain.” The expanded edition also includes a unique version of “Infected Voice” that was recorded during a writing session in March 1990.
Sepultura, the Brazilian metal powerhouse formed in 1984 by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, have been a major force within the metal genre for more than 30 years with albums like Beneath the Remains (1989), Roots (1986), Chaos AD and, of course, Arise, originally released in 1991. They have sold more than 20 million albums with multiple gold and platinum records around the world. The band has evolved significantly over the years, most notably with the departure of founding members Max and Igor Cavalera, who are now members of the metal band Soulfly, formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1997.
