Chvrches are back with a new video for their song “Miracle.” The song itself is a relatively simple and pop-oriented affair, destined for chart success in mainstream radio and among fans of alternative/underground pop. The clip features lead singer Lauren Mayberry in a misty plane surrounded by warring gangs that look like they were partially inspired by Warriors.
Halfway through the video, Mayberry gets decked by a looter, as the visuals take a darker, more metaphorical quality. A glowing orb holds a black, removed-but-still-beating heart is seen on screen – the mist fades – Mayberry is transported to what seems to be another dimension, where some of the strange gang members have been decimated. Then, the mist returns. Check out the video below:
