Phillip H. Anselmo & The Illegals have announced that their upcoming spring tour with King Parrot has been postponed. The tour has been postponed to August-September. The reason for the postponement is due to Anselmo’s back injury that he had in January. In a press release, he states “As many of you know, I had a second back surgery in late January. I’m having an incredible recovery, but just want to be one-thousand percent when I get to jam the new Illegals with all my brothers and sisters. My apologies for jumping the gun extend to the fans, my fellow Illegals, King Parrot, our crews, and all mechanical parties involved, but we will all see it’s the right decision soon. See you cats and chicks in the fall! Much love, as always.”
The tour is in support of their latest album Choosing Mental Illness As A Virtue, released earlier this year. Revolver Magazine described the album as “fifty minutes of gnarly, vicious extreme metal…”
Tourmates King Parrot are supporting their latest album Ugly Produce, released last year. Rolling Stone Australia Magazine describes the Australian band’s album as “visceral ball of fury wrapped in sarcasm and grime that’s both terrifying and hilarious at the same time.” The band recently played the Download Music Festival in Melbourne, Austrailia with Korn, Mastodon, and Prophets of Rage.
