Arcade Fire finished their three-night engagement at London’s Wembley Stadium this Friday, and during their final performance, was joined by Florence Welch. The frontwoman for Florence & the Machine came on stage to perform her band’s great anthem hit, “Dog Days Are Over” alongside the Canadian rock band.
Florence Welch posted a tweet following the performance expressing how much of a dream it was. In the tweet, she revealed that the song was inspired by Arcade Fire’s “Funeral” as “I wanted to at least try and make something that could be in any way as beautiful.”
Welch was not the only guest performance the indie rock band had on stage with them. After Welch, they brought up Boy George to the stage to sing a rendition of Culture Club’s “Karma Chameleon.” Afterward, they all did “Wake Up” together. Arcade Fire is continuing their World Tour to support their new album Everything Now which is available to purchase. Florence and the Machine is getting ready to release their brand new album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, later this year. It is the band’s first album since 2015.
When I was writing this song, I would go to Isa’s studio after art school, (cycling up Crystal Palace hill which takes some dedication) I had been listening to an album called ‘Funeral’

…I don’t know if I succeeded, but to play it with them last night was a dream come true. @arcadefire changed the way I wanted to make music and I will be forever grateful to them x pic.twitter.com/byn1TgzJbP
