Nick Cave has been around for a long time, ever since 1979’s Door, Door by The Boys Next Door. His latest record with Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds was Skeleton Tree from September 2016, their sixteenth record as a band, and Cave’s twenty-third record overall.
Last year, longtime organist and piano player for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Conway Savage was diagnosed with brain cancer, and only recently was it announced that he’s been off tour due to his recovery process. “Conway was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent an operation just before the start of the North American shows,” read a Facebook post. “The operation was largely a success and he is currently at home in Australia undergoing follow-up treatment.”
The group has recently announced a new tour, starting October, featuring dates all over North America and Latin America. Pop group Cigarettes After Sex will open for the U.S. dates. Pitchfork reported that the tour was announced via trailer video, following the release of their recent concert film Distant Sky – Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds Live in Copenhagen. Cave also just finished a tour of Q&A interviews.
