Former Contributing Member Chris Connelly Joins Ministry On Stage for First Time in Almost 15 Years to Perform “So What?”

For the first time in fifteen years, Ministry was joined by former vocalist Chris Connelly during a set at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL on April 7th.  They performed one of their more notable hits together  “So What“ in front of fans.

Chris Connelly became a key player of Ministry during their years of promoting The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste from 1989 to 1990, during which Connelly contributed his vocals for the singles”Burning Inside” and “So What.” He was also a seminal part of Ministry’s alter ego during that period, the Revolting Cocks, or”RevCo.”

Following his year in the group, Connelly, moved to Chicago, where he manages a record store and performs as a solo artist. He has maintained little  to no contact with the band, commenting in an interview that he “never liked that kind of music anyway. I was never a fan. And I was never particularly a fan of the music I was doing. There were certain aspects of it I liked, and there’s certain things that they did within that framework. But I fell out of love with it really quite quickly.” In 2008, Connelly released his memoirs of his time in the hedonistic group, entitled,”Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible and Fried: My Life as a Revolting Cock” in which he recounts a life of excess he appeared relieved to leave behind.

Ministry are currently on tour with Chelsea Wolfe with Fear Factory vocalist Burton C. Bell has contributing vocals on a number of songs. Fan-filmed footage of Connelly performing with Ministry can be viewed below.
