Supergroup Killer Be Killed are reuniting to work what will be their sophomore album.
The group consists of: Soulfly‘s Max Cavalera, Mastodon‘s Troy Sanders, former The Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato and Converge drummer Ben Koller. In a newly published interview Cavalera said the group is quickly preparing to work together again.“We’re actually practicing tomorrow. The guys are flying here to Phoenix and we’re gonna go to our Soulfly place of practice, which is like this big warehouse that we have [with] all our gear there. So they’re flying in, and they rented a house. So, yeah, we’re gonna finally, finally get some new stuff. We’ll try to write as much as we can. I’m really excited.”
Though they have yet to work officially on new material, Cavalera seems optimistic that a new Killer Be Killed album will be available in 2019, saying that after going into the studio at the end of the year and having the chance to record, he’s “99 percent sure it’s gonna happen.”
Greg Puciato’s group The Dillinger Escape Plan had announced in 2017 that they would be disbanding after 20 years together, with their 2016 album ‘Dissociation’ being their last. Puciato mentioned that being away from the group would leave him free to participate in other projects, as well as leave the group out at its peak, stating that he didn’t want their music career to drag on like a shameless sequel that only exists for an easy paycheck.
