The debut of the Sea.Hear.Now Festival will be held on the beach in Asbury Park, New Jersey from September 29 – 30. Sea.Hear.Now will feature more than 25 bands on its three stages at North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park. Organizers of the new event have unveiled the initial lineup.
American singer-songwriter Jack Johnson will be headlining the event, fitting the theme of the event perfectly as a proponent of surf culture, being a former professional surfer himself. Also headlining is classic Calabasas, California alt/funk/nu-metal band Incubus, again reminiscent of West Coast beach culture.
Along with the headliners, Social Distortion, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Brandi Carlile, Blondie, SOJA, G. Love & Special Sauce, Deer Tick, Rayland Baxter and Carl Broemel are among the other acts set to play Sea.Hear.Now 2018.
In addition to the music, Sea.Hear.Now will is planning to bring fans unique art and surf culture experiences. The event will find professional surfers taking part in “Expression Sessions” in which they’ll show off their talents. Also, famed photographer Danny Clinch will showcase a display of images featuring the artists on the lineup at his Transparent Gallery space. Clinch, a Jersey Shore native, is producing the new festival with C3 Presents.
“Sea.Hear.Now is a long time dream of ours. To have our musician, surfer and artist friends come to Asbury Park this September to play some music, ride some waves and make some art,” said Clinch in a press release. “We come from the Jersey Shore and we believe in Asbury Park. It is one of the coolest beach cities in America, if not the world. We are ready to go!”
