Goldenvoice Confirms FYF Festival 2018 Will Happen After Buying Out Sean Carlson’s Stake

Looks like Los Angeles’ best music festival is back for 2018 with a teaser video posted to Instagram today. The festival’s future was on rocky ground after founder Sean Carlson was accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct, which eventually led to him parting ways with Goldenvoice and FYF Festival. Luckily for fans of great music in Los Angeles, the festival appears to be on for this summer, once again hosted at its new home in Expo Park, just south of DTLA.

The video features a woman in a car shuffling around for a tape (because that’s all the rage with the kids now). She eventually finds the tape she was looking for, labeled in permanent marker as “FYF 2018 Mix” – when she pops it in, what should play through the speakers but the seminal shoegaze band My Bloody Valentine’s most recognizable song “Only Shallow.”
