Desert Daze Confirms Move to Lake Perris and Announces 2018 Lineup Featuring Warpaint, Ty Segall & White Fence and Chelsea Wolfe

Desert Daze festival will be celebrating its seventh birthday in October and will also be celebrating a new location, again. The diverse festival will be held at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area October 12-14.

The day of psychedelic fun and fantasy was formerly held at the Institute of Mentalphysics in Joshua Tree. Before Joshua Tree it was first held in North Palm Springs. The new location will feature everything from high-grade RV accomodations, to Itialian beach club parties and swimming.

The first wave of artists has been announced which includes Mercury Rev, Warpaint, Tame Impala, King Khan & The Shrines, A Place to Bury Strangers, Shannon and the Clams, Pond, Ty Segall & White Fence, Connan Mockasin, Dakhabrakha, Earthless, Kikagaku Moyo, The Holydrug Couple and many more.

Some of the features in the lineup this year will be Mercury Rev performing Deserter’s Songs in honor of its 20th anniversary and collaboration between Ty Segall and White Fence (better known as Tim Presley.) Segall’s most recent release is called Freedom Goblin while Presley released The Wink in 2016. He will be bringing back the stage name White Fence for his performance with Segall.

Previous artists to play Desert Daze include Iggy Pop, Eagles Of Death Metal, Panda Bear, Primus, Deerhunter, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Minus the Bear and Failure among many more. More artists as well as more headliners will continue to be announced throughout the spring and general admission and VIP passes go on sale March 30.

UPDATE (3/30): Death Grips have been added to the Desert Daze 2018 lineup. They receive equal billing with Mercury Rev and Warpaint.

UPDATE (7/24): Desert Daze has announced several new artists to its already-stellar 2018 lineup. Joining Ty Segall & White Fence, Warpaint, Death Grips and more are heavyweights My Bloody Valentine, as well as noise-rock trio Shellac, Julia Holter, GUM, Ian Svenonius’s band Escape-ism, and Yonatan Gat. UPDATE (8/28): As hard as it is to imagine for a festival that already features show-stopping performers like My Bloody Valentine, Tame Impala, Chelsea Wolfe, Death Grips and much more, Desert Daze just got even better. Today, they announce their Phase Four Transmission with additions to the lineup including legendary dream pop band Slowdive, Bay Area psych luminaries Wooden Shjips and up-and-coming UK socio-political punks Idles.

That’s not all though, the festival has also announced that local bands like Cosmonauts, L.A. Witch and Death Valley Girls. There will also be collaborative sets by Kikagaku Moyo, Boogarins, JJUUJJUU, and more (to be revealed later). Rounding out the foruth announcement is Vinyl Williams, Goon, Stonefield, Sugar Candy Mountain and The Mad Walls.
