RLYR Release New Seven-Minute Track “Artificial Horizons”

RLYR, the Chicago-based instrumental rock trio has released the second and final single from their sophomore album Actual Existence. The album is set to come out April 13th via San Francisco tastemaker label The Flenser.

“Artificial Horizons” is the newest track and plays a little over seven minutes. In a time where attention span is decreasing, a seven-minute song may be a lot to take in. Some may turn the track off midway through. Though, here’s a suggestion. Don’t. It is an instrumental ride worth taking. It spirals in and out never truly letting the listener go, and that is a good thing. Just when you think, you think you know where the song is heading; it switches gears. “Artificial Horizons” is a track worth staying on throughout its running time.

The members that form Rlyr consist of guitarist Trevor Shelley de Brauw (Pelican), drummer Steven Hess (Locrian) and bassist Colin DeKuiper (Bloodiest). All three members know thing or two about creating experimental rock music, and with their latest single, none shy away from the power it makes.
