Experimental hip hop group Death Grips revealed via social media that they are working on new material. On their official Instagram account, in fact, they shared a picture of Shrek director Andrew Adamson. It’s evident Adamson is collaborating with the band for their upcoming new record, as Pitchfork said.
The new album will follow 2016 Bottomless Pit, a surprise record which was released almost entirely overnight. The record included previously-released song “Hot Head” but only one track was premiered on Beats 1, namely “Eh”. The rest of the record was released all at once immediately after.
Following the release of Bottomless Pit, the rap-noise band shared a 11 minute-long new track, in October 2017. According to Pitchfork, the song consists of Zach HIll’s full electronic drum solo for their 6 minutes 2017 tour promotional video. Over the same year, as well as releasing another 22 minute-long song called Steroids, Death Grips Co-headlined a tour with Minstry and Hill’s side project the I.L.Y.’s, released a new record titled Bodyguard.
HIll has also teamed up with Deerhoof in 2017 under the moniker Nervous Cop, Pitchfork reported. However, Deerhoof drummer Greg Saunier and Hill already joined forces under the name of 2003.
