Since April 2017, well-known progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me have been gearing up for the release of their eighth studio album Automata. In fact, the group has recorded so much material that they’ll release it in two parts, with Automata I out today (March 9th), and Automata II due sometime this Summer. Lead vocalist Tommy Rogers elaborated on the concept of the double-LP for The PRP, asking: “What if dreams could be broadcast for the purpose of entertainment?”
In the video for the second single, a boy travels through the dreamscape, as the band watches. “The song,” said Rogers, “is told from the perspective of a child dealing with loss. However, in the video we wanted it to be a platform that represents the entire album and the main protagonist’s many faces he wears. It represents what is contained within the album and hopefully it will urge the listener to dive into the story of Automata.” Their previous video for “Condemned to the Gallows” followed a similar theme. Watch the video for “Millions” below, and check out Automata I out now.
