Childish Gambino has announced a 2018 North American tour in support of the album Awaken My Love!. The tour will kick off in Atlanta, GA on September 6 and will conclude in Vancouver on September 30. Popular Tupelo, Mississippi duo Rae Sremmurd will offer as the tour’s opening act.
Gambino, born Donald Glover, will travel through 13 cities hitting major venues along the way such as Madison Square Garden in New York, TD Garden in Boston, United Center in Chicago and The Forum in Los Angeles. The tour will reach his fans in all of the key areas on both coast’s and in the midwest.
The California born and Georgia raised hip hop artist has released the studio albums Camp, Because the Internet and Awaken My Love!; and he has stated that his album due out later this year will be his last much to his fans’ disappointment. However he will have plenty of film and TV work to keep them satisfied such as the recently returned show Atlanta on FX.
He has also appeared in films such as The Martian in 2015, Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and is slated to appear in Solo: A Star Wars Story later this year; to be followed by a role as Simba in a live action version of The Lion King in 2019. Glover has also appeared in popular television series such as Community and Girls and the 34 year old is also running an animated Deadpool series scheduled to come out later this year on FX.
UPDATE (4/30): Childish Gambino has expanded his fall 2018 tour dates. There are now several dates in October with opening act Vince Staples.
