The Hold Steady Releases Two New Songs “Eureka” b/w “Esther”

2000’s Indie Rock veteran’s The Hold Steady haven’t released a full record since 2014’s Teeth Dreams, but they’ve still been putting out material such as an EP of covers called RAGS, and set of singles, “Entitlement Crew b/w A Snake In The Shower” in 2017. The singles were their first bits of new material in over four years, and as the press release states, “the first studio recordings to feature longtime keyboard player Franz Nicolay since 2008’s beloved fourth album, Stay Positive.”

Recorded in Brooklyn, NY back in November, the new single “Eureka b/w “Esther” is set to be released on March 12th via French Kiss Records, but it can be streamed right now over on the band’s bandcamp page, with all donations going to The K + L Guardian Foundation, “a fund set up to benefit the children of Unified Scene founder Mike Van Jura, who died in November 2012.”

Hold Steady are also gearing up for a big three night run in London dubbed “Boys And Girls In London,” where shows at the famous Electric Ballroom and The Lexington, featuring “a full Sunday roast dinner” with select guests, and a “special, intimate, celebration with fans.” While they were recording the new single, they did something similar at Brooklyn Bowl, NY to much success. The three nights in London, from March 9-11th, are sold out. Listen to the singles via Bandcamp below, set for all digital platforms on March 12th.
