Diplo hasn’t released music under his own name in over five years, but he hasn’t kept silent either. He’s worked with Skrillex on their collaborative project Jack Ü, Major Lazer, Mad Decent Block Party, and even Brazilian drag queen Pabllo Vitta, whose song with Diplo and Anitta, according to Billboard, became the fastest video on YouTube to reach one million likes in under six hours.
His new video “Worry No More” features Lil Yachty and Satigold, as they sing about wanting to be rich and achieve all of their dreams while making cakes in a bakery. “I don’t want to worry no more/I just want to ball like the big league/I just want a nice house on the shore/I just want a big house like Gatsby,” Yachty sings, “so catch me if you can/I’m chasing after my dreams/I want to be the man/I want to be the star on the scene.”
It’s a pretty repetitive yet upbeat and inspirational anthem that, according to Stereogum, will appear on Diplo’s upcoming EP California, set to be released later this month on March 23rd. Diplo has other big plans for 2018 as well, from his appearance as Silk City with Mark Ronson at New York’s Governor’s Ball, and his recent GQ Style interview in which he said that he plans to “get more involved” in the DJ world and DJ culture.
