Ryan Adams In Studio Recording New Album, Tweets “2 Songs Done. 9 To Go”

For fans of the prolific alt-country star Ryan Adams that crave a new release, the wait appears to be getting shorter. He posted on Twitter earlier today with images of himself in the studio working on new music. The Tweet is caption “24 track 2 inch tape. 2 songs done. 9 to go. We’re in the end zone adding little touches & vocals at night. This is the sound we were looking for.” He goes on to describe the new music as a dream woven from the records him and his team love the most. He concludes the post with “Exciting vibes at #PaxAm with the dudes.”

This new record would be the follow up to his strong 2017 album Prisoner. That album was classic Ryan Adams, with lyrics that touched on his split from actress and singer Mandy Moore. Late last year he contributed cover of Tegan and Sara’s “Back In Your Head” from their cover album of The Con. On Instagram, he posted about recording with Jenny Lewis at his PaxAm studio.

UPDATE (3/8): Ryan Adams has tweeted another update on the progress of his new album. The follow-up to his 2017 album Prisoner now has 11 songs tracked and have all the vocals done.
