The lineup for the second annual Arroyo Seco Weekend was announced, and after a successful debut in 2017, the festival will return to the Rose Bowl stadium with a delightfully diverse and particularly talented roster of musicians: including Neil Young + Promise of the Real, Robert Plant and the Sensational Shape Shifters and the rock ‘n’ roll brother act of Kings Of Leon and Jack White. Among the rest of the lineup, there’s a fun mix of old and new, a booking decision that contributed to the success of the first festival. Acts notable to millenial attendees, Alanis Morrissette and Third Eye Blind, will be in attendance. Hitting a more nostalgic feel for audiences will be acts like the Bangles, the Pretenders, the Specials, the Violent Femmes, and Prince’s legendary backing band, the Revolution.
In a delightful grab bag of performers, are indie band Belle and Sebastian from the United Kingdom, blues singer and guitarist Gary Clark Jr., Los Angeles jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington, East L.A. rock band Los Lobos, country singer-songwriter Margo Price, and Brazilian guitarist Seu Jorge. In addition, actor Jeff Goldblum will appear for the second year in a row for a special set with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra for a repeat of last year’s well-received performance that was very uniquely Goldblum.
After a successful first outing, organizers focused on making its amenities as accessible and impressive as ever. This year, there will be specially designated areas where attendees will have plenty of space to picnic on blankets or lounge in chairs. Arroyo Seco will offer fancy food from some of the city’s highest-rated restaurants, plus an additional area for families, with a play area at the nearby Kidspace Children’s Museum.
This year’s Arroyo Seco will be held on June 24th, and passes go on sale Friday, March 9 at 10 a.m. PT.
