Garage rock act King Tuff releases another track from their upcoming new album The Other, due on April 13th from Sub Pop. The new song comes with a video and it’s titled Raindrop Blue.
Raindrop Blue represents the third single from the forthcoming new record, following the release of the title track The Other and Psycho Star, for which a video, directed by Cameron Dutra, was also released. The newly announced record will be the newest release since King Tuff’s 2014 LP Black Moon Spell.
According to the Spin, many collaborations will appear on the record: names such as Ty Segall, Jenny Lewis and Greta Morgan have been revealed thus far.
King Tuff himself spoke about the album on a tweet saying that “The Other marks a new chapter for King Tuff. I went down deep into the void. These songs blasted me back into the sunshine. They saved me and I’m more excited about this record than I have been in a long time”.
In his latest video, Raindrop Blue, the artist seem to show a very deep love for his car, a 1982 blue Subaru Brat, which he drives to a secluded area surrounded by nature and polishes. Perhaps a visual way to incarnate the deep void he said to have gone down to.
Here’s what King Tuff said to Consequence of Sound: “I imagined myself driving around in a 1982 blue Subaru Brat, which has been my dream car ever since I was a little kid. I would see them driving around my hometown, Brattleboro, Vermont, and I thought the name Brat had something to do with the town itself. It always seemed like the unicorn of cars; you’d only catch a glimpse of one when you weren’t looking. So I was driving this car around in my song cuz you can do whatever you want inside a song”.
King Tuff will be on tour throughout the United States starting May 1st in San Diego, CA at The Casbah.
