Metal band Eyehategod will be on the road in Spring 2017 for a new tour. The group will join forces with Cro-Mags for a non stop one-show-a-day tour starting on March 15th in Houston, TX at the White Oak and ending on April 1st in Margate, FL at O Malley’s. The two bands will also visit Atlanta, GA, St. Louis, MO and Cleveland, OH among other cities. Some of the southern date, however, will see Buzzoven as opening act.
The newly announced tour gives hopes for a hypothetical new release from the band, which, according to Metal Injection, has been in the studio in 2017. As of June 2017, in fact, guitarist Jimmy Bower revealed that the band was in the studio tracking drums. The record would be the newest release since their 2014 when Eyehategod came out.
This represent exciting news for the band in a double way, because it entails that singer Mike IX Williams has definitely overcome his health problems, or at least he will able to keep them under control and being able to hit the stage. Williams has, in fact, undergone a liver transplant operation in late 2016, after being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in December 2016, according to Loudwire.
While the operation saved his life and recovery went well, a copious amount of medical bills was still left to pay. Thus, the metal community has come together to raise more than $70,000 through both a Youcaring page and a series of benefit shows, to which bands like Superjoint, Crowbar, Goatwhore, Flesh Parade, Child Bite, Thou and Classhole participated.
