Desert Daze is back for a second edition of its traveling festival called Desert Daze Caravan, announcing the 2018 lineup. This year will feature a handful of great psychedelic-leaning artists from a wide range of genres. Topping the bill is Los Angeles’ freakiest pop mastermind Ariel Pink, who just released a new album last year, Dedicated to Bobby Jameson. He also performed at the standalone festival that takes place in Joshua Tree, CA last October. Joining him is Brooklyn indie rockers Diiv, who are back on the road after their lead singer Zachary Cole Smith was treated at a long haul inpatient center in 2017. The singer has long struggled with addiction issues, but when he’s “on” there are few bands as talented as Diiv.
Also joining the caravan is Nick Hakim and Bay Area psych rockers Suuns, who just announced a new album. A few years ago they released an incredible collaborative record with Jerusalem in My Heart, so look for another great release from this rising group. Finally, JUUJJUU round out the lineup, with Phil Pirrone serving as a band member and founder of Desert Daze.
