For the next few weeks, via a hand-painted mural in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood as well as being live-streamed on Pitchfork.com, the lineup for the 2018 Pitchfork Music Festival will be unveiled. Today, the first round of performers for the thirteenth annual music festival revealed a stellar list of music acts that would not disappoint.
The three day weekend will include sets from Australian psychedelic rock band Tame Impala, who hasn’t performed in America since they performed at the Panorama Music Festival in New York City last July, Chicago’s fast-rising noise rockers Melkbelly, singer-songwriters Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, DRAM, and Raphael Saadiq.
Other highlights of the first wave of performers include This Is Not This Heat, (Sandy) Alex G, Japandroids, Kelela, Ravyn Lenae, Kelly Lee Owens, Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society, and Irreversible Entanglements. The rest of the lineup will is planning to unveil in two parts in the coming weeks.

Pitchfork Music Festival returns to Chicago’s Union Park on Friday, July 20th through Sunday, July 22nd. There are three options when purchasing tickets for Pitchfork which is available to buy now. For single day, tickets are $75 or $175 for all three days. There is a Pitchfork +Plus upgrade which comes out to $375 for a three-day pass and includes a variety of exclusive amenities such as premium food vendors and private specialty bars.
