Being one of the most successful metal forges known, Dimmu Borgir has been dominating the black metal genre for roughly 25 years. The songwriting core of Dimmu Borgir consist of several band members, vocalist Shagrath, guitarists Silenoz and Galder, drummer Daray and keyboardist Gerlioz.
After 7 years of silence, marking the bands tribute to their past and Norwegian black metal history, is their 10th full-length release, Eonian, set to release in May, consisting of epic music and an even more epic video for their monumental song “Interdimensional Summit”.
The video was shot by Patric Ullaeus, who previously worked with the band for the clips of “Progenies of the Great Apocalypse,” “Sorgens Kammer -Del II” and the award-winning “The Serpentine Offering.”The video embodies the more devilish and diverse side of the album, paying homage to the bands long history.
The 10 new tracks of Eonian, produced by the band emerges from the dark minds of the three songwriters, following the philosophical concept of the illusion of time.
“Time, when not approaching it from the construct we’re used to can’t be defined and thus it is illusory,” Silenoz goes on to explain that “there is only and “eternal now,” which the album title its already hinting at. When we travel between the worlds seen and unseen, the perception of time ceases to exist, it has no function. Our energy is our torch and our compass when we make rifts and piece through the veil-when we go beyond.”
With dark imagery, and head banging instrumentals, “Interdimensional summit” embodies everything that the album is, devilish and historic.
