You may have heard of Janelle Monae’s highly anticipated third studio album Dirty Computer, well more details have arrived! Through a recent press release, Monae has announced that her third album will be released this April 27th, but have no fear if you’re itching for more. Accompanying this press detail are two singles with beautiful visuals that you can check out below.

The first, “Make Me Feel”, features monae and an entourage entering a dance bar. Soon, a crisp beat walks in and some performance art in the bar begins the lyrics. The video is full of stark and clear colors as well as a hypnotizing chromatic melody that is reminiscent of Prince or Michael Jackson. The video then ventures even further into the art-pop realm of visuals and dance moves. “Make Me Feel” was directed by Alan Ferguson.

In Monae’s “Django Jane,” the song focuses, musically, more on the hip-hop end-of-things as Janelle Monae burns through lyrics and rhymes with a punch. Some of the motifs of the rap include her thoughts on women’s rights, the lives of those who live in a white worlds, alongside other political mentions. The video perfectly fits the music with its heavy use of regality and superfluidity that most of the people in this world do not personally experience.”Django Jane” was directed by Andrew Donoho and Chuck Lightning with Lacey Duke featured as the director for the vagina monologue scene.

If those videos excited you like they did me, then you will want to pre-order the album here. All pre-orders will include downloads of the aforementioned singles above. The song has already has received widespread praise from the likes of NPR, Billboard, and W Magazine. In support of her musical and cinematic works, Monae is also releasing a narrative film titled “Emotion Picture” that includes an accompanying album. The album will be available for pre order on April 27th.
