Corey Taylor has announced that he has been working on lyrics to a Slipknot album that will be released in 2019. This will be Slipknot’s sixth album. This follows the performance of “China Doll” at the David Bowie Tribute Special.
According to Loud Wire, the artist told Musik Universe “It’s dark — it’s really dark,” when talking about the three new songs he’s been working on. He continues, “it’s probably the most autobiographical I’ve been in years. Just for the fact that I’ve been through a lot the last few years and I’ve been sitting on a lot. So I’m writing from the standpoint of where I am now instead of where I was. Which is so easy to tap into sometimes and it’s so easy to just kind of go there almost on impulse. But now, I’m writing it from the standpoint of a man who’s been through a lot — not just a young man, but an older man — and trying to figure things out.”
The artist has heard six demos from the instrumental section, which he says it’s “really, really good”. The vocalist will be expecting to work with the samples heard during the studio process. It has also been unveiled that recording will start sometime during 2019. They will be writing, recording and take it on the road.
