Eric San, a.k.a. Kid Koala, is DJ/producer from Canada. He’s collaborated with Gorillaz and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, as well as contributed to the soundtrack for the film Baby Driver. His efforts don’t stop at musician however, as he also wrote a graphic novel entitled Nufonia Must Fall, and the soundtrack to the Nintendo Switch video game Floor Kids. For fans of the game, Koala Kid will release the soundtrack on April 27th via Arts & Crafts as a limited edition double-LP vinyl.
At 42 tracks and 71 minutes long, Kid Koala’s soundtrack of electronic, instrumental hip-hop and break beats, is also accompanied by original artwork and the record as a digital download. The soundtrack won the Indie Prize award for Best Game Audio, and Kid Koala will tour in support of the soundtrack featuring a variety show that includes a traveling arcade.
“I was just trying to score to JonJon’s drawing style,” he said in the official press release. “His characters and animation have such a distinctive dusted sketch style. I wanted the music to illuminate this universe and match the energy of a battle. Once I saw the sketches of all the game venues, it was on!” Check out all the information for Kid Koala’s Floor Kids soundtrack below, including the video trailer, as well as all the information for his upcoming tour below.
