The record was written and recorded in what frontman Ruban Nielson states are “some truly amazing places such as Seoul, Reykjavik, Hanoi, Mexico City, his brother’s home in New Zealand, and his home-studio in the basement of his Portland Home.” See the full track list below:

The video “American Guilt” is a fully cartoon side-scrolling phenomena featuring stacks of trash and litter that sometimes come to form in animals and monsters. Following the trend of the title of the song, one can tell that Sharp really took the lyrics to heart through showing the cartoon waste that Americans are widely known for. What begins as just tossed half-eaten food and scraps soon turns into money, fires, and disposed material items that would take the form if something like a crocodile (which could be a reference to one UMO’s older songs). It is truly the perfect video to accompany the newest addition to the sonic palette of Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Check out your new favorite cartoon below.

Lastly, in support of their upcoming album, UMO will also embark on an enormous world tour visiting Europe and North America. You can purchase tickets here. Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
