JUNO Awards Announce 2018 Nominations Featuring Lights, Arcade Fire and The Weeknd

The 47th annual JUNO Awards ceremony will be taking place in Vancouver on Sunday, March 25th at the Rogers Arena, hosted by, the returning master of ceremony, Michael Bublè.

Honoring the best in Canadian music, The Juno Awards will return once again this year, with a large variety of categories. From Adult Contemporary Album of the Year to Comedy Album of the Year, the categories and nominees differ in both their style and genre.

Amongst the fight for Album of the Year award is as follows: Arcade Fire, Johnny Reid, Michael Bublè, Ruth B and Shania Twain. Not short of similar icons, the International Album of the Year nominees include, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.

As for Single of the Year, Arcade Fire has been nominated again, battling against, The Arkells, Shawn Mendes and the Weeknd. In the meantime, with repetition of a few artist, Artist of the Year nominees included Shania Twain, Ford Downie, Daniel Caesar and Lights.

With a variety of nominees, Group of the Year nominees are Arcade Fire, A Tribe Called Red, Alvvays, Broken Social Scene and Hedley.

Following this ,with more specialized categories, the Hard Music Album of the Year nominees includes Anciients, Archspire, Longhouse, METZ and Striker, while the Rock Album of the year nominees are Death From Above, Nickelback, Big Wrck, Glorious Sons and Theory of Dead Man.

With multi-nominations in various categories, Arcade Fire takes the stage again with their nomination for best Alternative Album of the year award. Following them are Alvvays, Land of Talk, Tanya Tagaq and Weaves.

Moving on, with more specialized categories is, the Comedy Album of the Year Award. The nominees include, Charlie Demers, DJ Demers, Ivan Decker, Becca Kohler, K. Trevor Wilson.

From what the nominations have shown, Arcade Fire came out as the most sought after nominees earning four nominations in various categories, from Single of the Year, to Album of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year.

Tying in second place is Daniel Caesar, The Arkells, the late Gord Downie, Ruth b and Hedley, with three nominations each.

If the amazing nominates are not enough, a number of show stopping performers are scheduled for the show, which including artist such as , Daniel Caesar Jessie Reyez and Hedley.
