Spent the day mixing in 5.1 for the first time… Empath will be written with this format in mind, I really enjoy it. There’s so much room for things to breathe in an independent way

Creating an unmistakable excitement is Empath. Being written in 5.1 surround sound, Townsends new symphony will be providing a high quality of sound that none of his previous records provided.
Devin’s wall of sound production technique could really benefit from the extra separation that 5.1 surround sound creates, and with him having “this in mind,” it is no wonder his excitement floods fans from his Twitter feed.
Providing his fans with a sound that adds quality and consistent home cinema like projection, the 5.1 surround sound will really compliment his production style, which is extremely dense and layered.
Therefore, give fans a live, in person experience splitting the overall composition into different channels, while opening up a whole new venture of music, and encounter for fans.
