Primavera Sound Festival Announces 2018 Lineup Featuring Bjork, Four Tet and A$AP Rocky

Few international festivals are as well-recognized and beloved as Primavera Sound, and with their 2018 lineup just announced, it looks like they won’t be dropping in stature any time soon.

Almost every single name on the flyer would be worth mentioning in a run down, but the headliners are without a doubt some of the best we have to look forward to this year. From Björk and Nick Cave in big print for Thursday night, to the National and Migos on Friday and Arctic Monkeys, Lorde and A$AP Rocky on Saturday, the big names are truly big.

But even the small print includes some definite heavy hitters. The Wednesday pre-show includes artists that would be headlining at any other festival, such as Belle and Sebastian, Spiritualized and Wolf Parade. And throughout the main festival, we see many a diamond in the form of artists like Sylvan Esso, (Sandy) Alex G, Waxahatchee, Idles, Car Seat Headrest and Jay Som, not to mention the multitude of acts in between.

What truly sets Primavera apart is its approach to genre distinctions, the approach being “screw genre distinctions.” Artists from truly every possible genre are represented here at Primavera, and being able to attend would surely be a magical experience.

Following the definitively male-dominated Grammys, Primavera 2018 makes sure to do well on gender diversity, with a lot of female artists, and bands featuring women given ample space on the lineup (Fever Ray, Chvrches, Haim, Charlotte Gainsbourg, The Breeders, Lorde, and Beach House, amongst others, are all high profile acts on the bill).

Primavera Sound 2018 takes place at Barcelona’s Parc del Fòrum, a multi-use waterfront complex, from 30 May until 2 June. You can purchase tickets here.
