Chromeo has just come through with the second single, and second track, from their upcoming fifth record, Head Over Heels. The song, titled “Bedroom Calling,” also features the help of renown singer and producer The-Dream.
The track jumps off with a smooth, snapping beat that clicks its way into a fun and funky intro, emphasizing that particular Chromeo-brand of sexy. With a refrain catchy enough rival any Billboard Chart topping single and groovy electronic beat, it shows off Chromeo at their finest. The-Dream also makes sure to make his presence known, adding a certain edge and harder quality than some of their other songs.
The Montreal, Canada based electro-funk duo, consisting of Dave 1 and P-Thugg, will soon begin their world tour, with the first stop on April 3 in Vancouver, B.C. The international tour will include stops at Coachella and Bonnaroo, as well as visits to pretty much every major city in the United States. Tickets for the tour launch Friday, though presales begin Tuesday (Jan. 30) at 12 p.m. ET.
Head Over Heels is due out this spring, and the lead single from the record, “Juice” comes with an accompanying music video, so check that out below.
Chromeo were first thrust into the spotlight with their 2007 release Fancy Footwork, which included tracks like “Bonafied Lovin'” and “Momma’s Boy.” Making the new R&B jam with The-Dream was a—pardon the pun—dream come true for Chromeo, said frontman Dave 1.
“We’ve been obsessed with The-Dream since ‘Fast Car’ from his first album,” Dave 1 said in a press release. “To us, he’s a modern day funk auteur, like Prince or El Debarge. This song pays homage to our favorite work of his.”
