Andrew W.K. Releases New High Intensity Video for “Ever Again”

Andrew W.K. released a dark and energetic video for “Ever Again” earlier today. Otherwise known as Andrew Fetterly Wilkes-Krier, the American songwriter, producer and instrumentalist has always strove to represent the beastly euphoria of partying in his music. The new video is no exception. W.K.’s appearance alone exudes the kind of attitude his music puts forth.

W.K. says the video is “about the feeling of excitement and power and clarity and confidence that comes from music.” W.K. hopes that music can be the answer to everything in the universe. He admits to not actually knowing that answer even if he thinks music can lead to it. “It was fun,” however, “to sing as though I did have the answer to kind of almost fantasize about what it would be like to have that clarity, to have that certainty, that kind of faith in something,” he said.

W.K. blew up in November 2001 after releasing I Get Wet, his debut album that featured hits like “Party Hard,” and “She Is Beautiful.” The album is visually notable for its artwork, shot by Roe Ethridge, that depicts W.K. with wet hair and a bloody face. The artist has worked on television and radio projects in addition to his music. He is also a writer and occasionally a motivational speaker.

Conrad Brittenham: My name is Conrad. I am one year out of college and pursuing a career in writing and journalism. I studied literature at Bard College, in the Hudson Valley. My thesis focuses on the literal and figurative uses of disease in Herman Melville’s most famous works, including Moby-Dick, Benito Cereno, and Billy Budd. My literary research on the topic of disease carried over to more historical findings about how humans tend to deal with and think about the problem of virus and infectivity. I’ve worked at a newspaper and an ad agency, as well as for the past year at an after school program, called The Brooklyn Robot Foundry. All of these positions have influenced the way I approach my work, my writing, and the way I interact with others in a professional setting. I’ve lived in London and New York, and have always had a unique perspective on international cultural matters. I am an avid drawer and a guitarist, but I would like to eventually work for a major news publication as an investigative journalist.
