When Joe Perry performs with “friends,” you know that it’s going to be an all-star lineup. And you know that all-star lineup will sound incredible together. That’s probably why this jam session for Perry’s new album release, Sweetzerland Manifesto, was sold out on a Tuesday night. Scalpers were nowhere to be seen, but dozens of individuals were outside hoping to score an extra ticket to the star studded event. An additional few dozen stood around the entrances and exits to the club with band memorabilia in hopes to catch a signature.
Perry was joined on stage by A-List performers including Johnny Depp, Terry Reid, David Johansen (New York Dolls), Robin Zander (Cheap Trick), Chris Robinson (The Black Crows) and Slash (Guns n’ Roses, Velvet Revolver). His band members included lead singer Gary Cherone (Extreme), Dean and Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots) on guitar and bass respectively, Buck Johnson on keyboards (Aerosmith) and David Goodstein on drums.
