Groove metal band Corrosion of Conformity have released a new video for the song “The Luddite” which is off their recently released album No Cross No Crown. The album marks the reunion of the classic lineup of the band with guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan returning to the group for the first time since 2005’s In the Arms of God.

The music video is a blend of superfast subliminal cutting and pulsing lights, showcasing the band playing in black backdrop. The whole thing plays like a surreal horror film, with much of the imagery portrayed in the lyrics coming alive in the video. It fits in perfectly with the music, as the song is a rampaging blend of sludgy, groove-oriented metal and soulful vocals from Keenan.

With plenty of tasty guitar riffs and wailing solos, the song is vintage Corrosion of Conformity, and will undoubtedly please fans who have been clamouring for the classic lineup of the band to release new music. “The Luddite” follows the first single from the album, the rollicking “Wolf Named Crow” which was released a few months ago.

For over thirty years Corrosion of Conformity has been pumping out southern style groove metal, developing one of the most devoted fanbases in the metal underground. During Kennan’s time away from the band he played guitar in the metal supergroup Down, which featured Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo. Corrosion of Conformity is currently on tour with Black Label Society Eyehategod, and Red Fang, a tour that will stretch into February.
