Hot Snakes are almost back! While the garage-punk legends consisting of John Reis, Rick Froberg, Gar Wood, and co-drummers Jason Kourkounis and Mario Rubalcaba have been touring plenty over the last decade since they got back together, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard new material. Today the band released a short video clip that accompanies their song “Why Don’t It Sink In?” The song veers more towards the band’s hardcore roots, clocking in at under a minute and picking up the BPM in a big way. The accompanying clip was shot by Reis on his cell phone, and features the band’s guitarist taking a rip from a water bottle bong, live clips of the band, random scenes of body parts, band members, flamingos and sharks. It all concludes with the clinking of frosty beer mugs. A new Hot Snakes album in 2018? That’s something to celebrate.
The band is currently on tour, playing some of their new music. Catch them up and down the west coast in March.
