International Days Festival, also known as I-Days Festival, is a music extravaganza experience that takes place in Milan, Italy during the Summer months. I-Days Fest first began in 1999 and were originally hosted in Bologna, Italy until 2009 when it moved to Milan as well as Parco di Monza in 2016. The music played at this festival is mostly punk, indie, and general rock music; however, other genres have been performed there as well.
2017 was one of those more eclectic years as it featured music from the likes of Green Day, Radiohead, and Linkin Park as well as more dance-type music like Justin Bieber and James Blake. 2017’s I-Days fest also took place in Parco di Monza.
According to the I-Days website, the 2018 lineup has just been announced. This upcoming year’s festival will host music such as The Killer’s, Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Pearl Jam, Queens of the Stone Age, and The Offspring. To purchase tickets, check here.
The Killers have recently been on tour in support of their new album Wonderful, Wonderful. Although the album contains classic Killers riffs, soul, and lyrics, Wonderful, Wonderful also contains beautiful punches of electronic motifs and modes.
It is interesting to see the Gallagher brothers playing at the same festival, especially with their history of animosity towards each other since the break-up of ballad extraordinaire Oasis. However, this past year has seen some rare amicable moments between the brothers. Although they aim each other with tongue-in-cheek comments there still seems to be love between them.
Queens of the Stone Age have been working hard since their debut releasing album after album and touring nonstop. Now, amidst their tours around the globe, the Queens will also be stopping in Italy for the I-Days fest. This past summer Queens of the Stone Age released a new album titled Villains. The announcement for this album was through a brilliant little comedic skit featuring the entirety of the band and a polygraph test. The next day their single “The Way You Used to Do” was released along with a world tour announcement.
International Days Festival is a brilliant guitar-laden experience you do not want to miss. Take a summer trip to Italy and have the time of your life with some nice wine, fresh pasta, and good tunes.
