Tom DeLonge has transformed from Blink-182s guitarist to UFO alien hunter and as recently as December 20th, DeLonge’s project has become more official than just a hobby. According to Loudwire, former official from the mysterious Pentagon has just confirmed that there is a UFO-related program titled Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). Named Luis Elizondo, the former Pentagon official has now partnered up with Tom DeLonge. Together, they have just released video, named “Gimbal,” with, possibly, an unidentified flying object. Check out the video via Youtube below. It seems, then, that DeLonge was serious when he stated that he had been working with high-profile officials.
Elizondo actually ran the AATIP since its birth in 2007 and was largely funded by former Senate majority leader Harry Reid. As 2012 came around, though, funding for the AATIP was dissolved; however, Elizondo continued his efforts at the Pentagon until his resignation this past October.
“Gimbal”, the UFO video, features two US Air Force pilots catching the site of a UFO zooming ahead of them against the jet stream. They begin to converse and theorize on what they are looking at as it is going supremely fast against wind, which defies our laws of physics.
Since 2015 DeLonge has been obsessed with the idea of being visited from another lifeform. He shared in a 2015 interview that he has been abducted by aliens and that he has been firm believer in such anomalies for 20 years. DeLonge has also, for his extraterrestrial efforts, opened a UFO Academy and has won an award for UFO Researcher of the year.
In an interview with CNN, the biggest star in Astrophysics, the legendary Neil deGrasse Tyson, responds to the video released by DeLonge and Elizondo. Tyson states that just because something is deemed a UFO does not mean it is immediately an alien. He then continues as he chuckles that all it means is we do not know what we are looking at. It seems, to Tyson, that it is comical that people will immediately conclude that a UFO is an alien. To Tyson, a UFO is just that: an flying object that is unidentifiable. Essentially, Tyson is saying that DeLonge has jumped to conclusions about the video released. Tyson believes DeLonge’s claim of the video “Gimbal” is completely outlandish. He even emphasizes this opinion by stating to the camera that DeLonge should “call [him] when [he] has a dinner invite from an Alien.” If aliens were to reveal themselves, it seems then, that it would be more obvious than a video of some floating ship. For now, all we know and all we see is a flying object.
