Bjork has dropped yet another visually stunning music video, this time for the title track of her latest release, Utopia, as reported by Pitchfork. Much like the video for “The Gate,” “Utopia” features Bjork in a CGI world of dazzling light, glitter, and otherworldly creatures on a floating island in the sky. Much of the video revolves around Bjork and a troupe of flute players moving around the dream-like environment.
The rich and vivid detail in the CGI is pretty remarkable, and Bjork fits right into the environment with another impressively designed costume. The song, like much of the material on Utopia, is driven by a serene flute arrangement over which Bjork lays down a set of dreamy and effects-laden vocals.
Utopia has been getting excellent reviews from media outlets and has received warm fan response for its bold sonic experimentation and dense songwriting. Bjork also recently spoke up about the sexual harassment she once allegedly faced on a film set. This continues the trend of women speaking up about the abuse they endured in the entertainment world, which has turned the industry on its head as famous names such as Harvey Weinstein have been outed for their alleged actions and relieved of their positions of power.
