Expect the unexpected. This is what Billie Eilish tells her fans to look forward to her live shows, the unexpected. Starting in March of 2018, Eilish will set-off on her ‘Wheres My Mind Tour’ to support her debut EP Don’t Smile At Me. Beginning in March and ending in April, Eilish’s journey will take her to cities like Atlanta, New York, Detroit, and Chicago to serenade her fans.
Eilish is an American singer/songwriter originally from Los Angeles, that was raised by a family of actors and musicians. It is no surprise that she is now a touring entertainer, at only the astonishing age of 15. Her vocal skills come from her days in the Los Angeles Children’s Choir. Who would’ve guessed this after-school activity would lead her down a path to a North American tour?
Still barely a teenager, Eilish’s single “Ocean Eyes” released through Interscope, has already exceeded 14 million streams. Having gained some traction, Eilish earned the opportunity to appear on the soundtrack of the highly talked-about Netflix series 13 Reasons Why with her track “Bored”. To round all this up, she followed with her EP Don’t Smile At Me, that will most likely be the focus of the tour.
Within her indie and electro-pop sound, Eilish has an interesting songwriting style. In an interview with Billboard she talks about her approach to writing her unique types of songs stating, “you don’t have to be in love with someone to write a song about being in love with someone. You don’t have to hate somebody to write a song about hating somebody. You don’t have to kill people to write a song about killing people. I’m not going to kill people, so I’m just going to become another character.” (Billboard). The young pop singer’s music has often been compared the styles of Lorde, sounding somewhat similar because of her dark and dreary themed tracks.
It is clear that Eilish and her talents are swiftly rising to the top. This show at Lincoln Hall next month could very well be the last opportunity to see her astounding vocals up-close and personal. The show is all ages, and begins at 8:30 PM. All tickets are general admission so ensure you arrive early to grab a spot close to the stage!
