Corrosion of Conformity, a heavy metal band based in North Carolina, are expecting to release their tenth studio album No Cross No Crown on January 12th, 2018 via Nuclear Blast. With the original trio and vocalist Pepper Keenan back together, the band has released their first single and animated video named “Wolf Named Crow.” No Cross No Crown will be the first album with all four of the original members from their fantastic run in the 90’s, with the two previous studio records missing lead singer Pepper Keenan. “‘Wolf Named Crow’ started with a couple of riffs Pepper was sitting on for a while,” explained bassist Mike Dean in a press release. “We learned those and collectively came up with a bridge on the spot and it fell together naturally. It reminds me of a new take on Wiseblood-era COC and Reed played some very original, yet very Bill Ward inspired fills. It’s easily my favorite track on this record.”
The video for “Wolf Named Crow” (above), features an animated wolf in a mystical forest, as nightmarish scenes of mobs evolves into critiques on capitalism and images of assassination. The build-up to the release of No Cross No Crown is also accompanied by a video blog, which can be found here, as well as tour dates with Black Label Society, which can be found below.
