The Hold Steady Releases Two New Songs “Entitlement Crew” and “Snake In The Shower”

The rock band, The Hold Steady are about to start their second annual Brooklyn Bowl holiday run this week beginning Wednesday, November 29th and going through to Saturday, December 2nd. Before they start their four-night residency gig, they decided to share two brand new songs with their fans called “Entitlement Crew” and “Snake In The Shower” to ring in the occasion.

In a statement released by the band, they “hope to play them at the shows, so we thought we’d share them in case you want to sing along.” Judging by the tracks, fans will surely want to sing along with The Hold Steady. The songs sound like future favorites and most likely be on permanent setlists for future shows. And with quotable lyrics like, “Tecate landing, tequila takeoff/ Koufax cookout, Pilsbury bakeoff,” it’s no surprise.

Both “Entitlement Crew” and “A Snake in the Shower” were recorded in Brooklyn earlier this month and will be available through streaming services next week. But fans can enjoy the tracks early through Bandcamp. Fans will be delighted to hear that all the proceeds from the song downloads are going to help benefit the K+L Guardian Foundation.

The band released a statement regarding the new tracks and the foundation.

“These will be available for the fans here on Bandcamp for this week, and next week we will make them available via the major digital music providers. If you choose to download these songs, a donation will be made to benefit the K+L Guardian Foundation. All monies received from downloads will be transferred to the K+L Guardian Foundation. The K+L Guardian Foundation was formed to benefit “Jersey” Mike Van Jura’s children after he suddenly passed away in November 2012 at only 36 years of age. Jersey Mike was the unofficial leader of the Unified Scene. You can stream and download the tracks starting RIGHT NOW on our Bandcamp page!”

It has been four years since the band released their last full-length album, Teeth Dreams. With the new shared tracks, fans should be happy to know that the group hasn’t lost their touch.
