Colleen Green Announces Winter 2017 Tour Dates

Los Angeles may be home to an extremely vast collection of musicians from around the world, but there is always a minority of artists who rise among the rest. Colleen Green is one of those artists. Born and raised in LA Green has worked hard to rise within the crowded indie-pop scene of LA. In 2011 her first album, as well as her first studio album, was released through the label Art Fag Recordings solely on vinyl and cassette. Green, however, quickly changed labels and released two full-length studio albums through Hardly Art Records, Sub Pop’s “sister label” or, as Hardly Art states: “[…] an offshoot of Sub Pop designed to spotlight emerging talent.” Since 2007 they have acquired a wide range of talent such as Colleen Green, La Luz, and Chastity Belt. Since Green’s 2015 release of I Want to Grow Up. Check out our mxdwn review of the album here.

As part of her 2017 tour in support of her music, Green was set to play across Australia until her deportation by the immigration office in Australia. Check our coverage of the story here. Colleen Green, is however set to go on a new tour across the globe as well as exclusive markets throughout the Americas. Through a press announcement, Colleen Green will begin a tour on this coming December 1st, beginning her musical adventures across Brazil. Find out if she’ll make your heart beat with her voice and guitar through her tour dates below. Green, throughout Brazil and the United States, will also be accompanied by her “frequent road buddy Cassie Ramone (of Vivian Girls and The Babies). For those who are itching to see Green play across the pond do not worry as the United Kingdom will experience three beautiful sets as early as 2018.

Colleen Green’s first two albums, Milo Goes to Compton and Sock It to Me, were both largely brought out with a warm homemade atmosphere in which one can almost feel her emotions as one’s own. With I Want to Grow Up there seems to exist a larger feeling of acceptance with oneself as shown through tracks such as the two-parter “Things that are bad for me”. The received positive praise across the board receiving honors such as rank 31 of 50 for Spin’s “The 50 Best Albums of 2015” as well as a rank of 8 of 50 from Stereogum the same year.

Jeremy Bacharach: Born in Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy has always been a lover of music. After graduating Hamilton High School with a focus in technical theatre, Jeremy ventured forth to Portland, Oregon so as to study at Lewis and Clark College. After bouncing around majors, he decided to focus on music composition and theory for the purpose of understanding why he loves what he loves. Aside from his major studies in composition, Jeremy also partook in sutdying Jazz Guitar, choir, and piano for the pure joy (and the requirements). Being able to write about what has become the main focus in his life only brings more joy to Jeremy as he is extrmely grateful to be a part of mxdwn!
