The magnetic, gifted, American Idol winner himself, is bringing his new ‘Magnetic Tour’ to the House of Blues in Chicago next April. Phillip Phillips will be visiting cities across the country in support of his newest single “Magnetic” and his upcoming album.

The southern singer/songwriter Phillip Phillips, was born in Leesburg, Georgia. He first discovered his destiny to be a musician when he was in his early teens. It did not take long until he started his own group with his brother-in-law, and performed began to perform shows locally. Now an American idol champion, the award stage was nothing new to him. The talented teen  won a local singing competition back in 2010 called, “Albany Star”. After wowing the judges at his American Idol audition, and besting vocalist Jessica Sanchez to win the title, Phillips released his debut single “Home” in 2012. The highly anticipated single sold over 5 million in the U.S. alone. The track was eventually included on his debut album The World From the Side of the Moon, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200.

There was speculation following his debut album on whether he had the chops to consistently produce in the music industry. However, in 2014 he released his second official album Behind the Light, that charted as high as #58 on the Hot 100 and put an end to the rumors. With hits like “Raging Fire” and “Gone Gone Gone” Phillips proves that he has what it takes to remain relevant, even after the American Idol victory.

Phillips comes across as very down-to-earth with a great deal of heart, and he expresses this through his music. His guitar-fueled rock mixes acoustic singer/songwriter, with rock. His warm vocals sing a special kind of folk rock, mixing elements of both folk and rock to create a very Mumford & Sons kind of sound. This popular sound is what helped Phillips win the American Idol crown.

With two chart-topping albums, the American Idol alum is ready to share his hits and his new music with his fans. Tickets are on sale now, and all general admission tickets are standing room only, so get there early to ensure you can be as close to Phillips as possible. All ages are allowed, and with such talent and charm, the show is sure to be memorable.
