Inara George Uses Heartbreakingly Expressive Vocals And A Soft, Consoling Rhythm In New Song “Release Me”

Inara George has released a song “Release Me”. This follows the artist’s release of “Young Adult” and the announcement of upcoming album Dearest Everybody.

According to the press release, the artist explains the song saying,”I wrote this song as a gift to my mother on her 70th birthday. I’d assumed that the song was too personal to put on my record. It’s a sort of love song to my father from my mother. But when I played it for my producer, Mike Andrews, he said we definitely had to record it. I’m very happy we did. I’m not sure I’ve ever shared such a personal song with the world. There’s something very liberating about it.”

The song has a slow soft piano based rhythm with the light tapping of the drums. The song is sung from the mother’s perspective and has a heartbroken calm spoken vocal as it talks about the grief she feels after her husband’s death. The song can be listened to below.
