Another one for the books. New York band Grizzly Bear is coming to the Wiltern Dec. 13 in Los Angeles and you won’t want to miss it. Supported by Serpentwithfeet, the all ages event will begin promptly at 7:00 PM. Ticket prices range from $37.50-$47.50 and the pit will be on a first come, first serve basis. Cop a ticket while you still can. It’s the perfect way to spend your hump day.
With 26 dates stacked up until next year, Grizzly Bear will have four dates in LA, with two back to back shows at the Wiltern. That means you can see your favorite band either Dec. 13 or Dec. 14. The only other California dates are in San Francisco at the Warfield Theatre. Their next date is in Mexico City, Mexico. The band will travel all over the world on their tour, including Denmark, New Zealand, Canada, the US and Australia.
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Grizzly Bear formed in 2002. The band consists of of Edward Droste, Daniel Rossen, Chris Taylor, and Christopher Bear. They are known for using both electronic and traditional instruments in their work, as well as utilizing vocals. They can be described as indie mixed with folk, electronic, psychedelic and experimental.
The band has released five studio albums, five extended plays and eight singles since their inception. Their first album, Horn of Plenty, was released in 2004. Their sophomore album, titled Yellow House, was released two years later through Warp Records. Their 2009 album Veckatimest peaked at number eight on the US Billboard charts. The album also went certified silver in the United Kingdom.
Three years later, Grizzly Bear followed up with Shields, another highly acclaimed album that broke onto multiple charts across the world. Their latest album, Painted Ruins, was released Aug. 18 via RCA Records. Pitchfork described the album as “evoking distant images and emotions that continually shift in and out of focus.”
