Open’er Festival Announce 2018 Lineup Featuring Bruno Mars, Depeche Mode and Gorillaz

Gdynia-based music event Open’er Festival has announced a third headliner for the festival, with British electronic-pop group Depeche Mode joining Gorillaz and Bruno Mars atop the lineup. The festival is scheduled for July 4-7 in Poland, at the Gdynia-Kosakowo Airport. Expect a lot more big names to be added to this festival between now and the summer of 2018.

Last year’s festival featured artists like James Blake, Radiohead, The Weeknd, Prophets of Rage and more. The diverse festival was headlined by At The Drive-In, LCD Soundsystem and The Last Shadow Puppets in 2016.

Depeche Mode has had an eventful 2017, highlighted by their Global Spirit Tour, which saw them performing with groups like Warpaint and more. Of course, they also released another great album, this one called Spirit. More recently, they released a video featuring cover of David Bowie’s classic song “Heroes,” which was in honor of the song’s 40th anniversary.

Gorillaz released a new album in 2017, which was their first since 2010’s The Fall. Like all albums by the Damon Albarn-led group, there were plenty of guest appearances on the new record, which was titled Humanz. Guests included De La Soul, Danny Brown, Kelela, Grace Jones, Mavis Staples, Pusha T, Kali Uchis and Jehnny Beth of Savages. They have been staple at festivals like The Meadows and Outside Lands, with many more headlining appearances on the way in 2018 like Bilbao BBK and Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park.

UPDATE (1/29): Arctic Monkeys have been added to the lineup for Open’er Festival 2018. They join other newly announced performers at the festival such as Massive Attack, Fleet Foxes and David Byrne.
